Artnet News Features Titanic: The Exhibition Sailing Into Chicago

Artnet News, a leading global art publication, highlights Titanic: The Exhibition by Imagine Exhibitions opening in Chicago at Westfield Old Orchard in Skokie. The article describes how the mammoth show brings together more than 300 artifacts and interactive elements to unfold the dramatic narrative of the ship's design, creation, launch, and ill-fated sinking. Stretching between 10,000 and 20,000 square feet, the exhibition has had sold-out runs in Macau, Moscow, Riga, Perth, Sydney, and Los Angeles.

Tom Zaller, President and CEO of Imagine Exhibitions, who personally dove to the Titanic wreck site in the late 1990s, explains that the continued public fascination with the Titanic is because "it's every man's story—the story of hopes and dreams." Artnet News details the immersive elements including boarding passes corresponding to actual passengers, historically accurate recreations of the ship's interiors and promenade deck, and a Discovery Gallery with a raised glass floor mimicking the ocean bottom.

The exhibition also features items from James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster film and a narrated film by Cameron himself, who has visited the wreckage on more than 30 occasions.
