Director of Sales & Marketing

Imagine is seeking an experienced Director of Sales & Marketing to serve as the lead promoter for assigned exhibitions, touring experiences and immersive attractions across Imagine’s global portfolio.

This role owns the market-level strategy and commercial performance of assigned projects from announcement through close. The Director is accountable for ticket sales, attendance, revenue performance, local partnerships, promotional activity and overall market results.

Working closely with Imagine’s centralized marketing teams, agency partners, venues, ticketing providers and local stakeholders, the Director develops and leads integrated market strategies that achieve attendance and revenue goals while maintaining alignment with global brand standards.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in live entertainment, attractions, exhibitions, tourism, sports or experiential marketing, with a proven ability to independently lead markets, manage agencies and partners, develop strategic relationships and deliver measurable commercial results.

Aufgaben:

Market Leadership & Strategy

  • Serve as the lead promoter and primary market owner for assigned exhibitions and experiences.

  • Own overall market performance, attendance and revenue goals.

  • Develop comprehensive sales and marketing strategies tailored to each market’s audience, competitive landscape and business objectives.

  • Lead campaigns from announcement through closing.

  • Monitor market conditions, sales trends, audience behavior and competitive activity to identify opportunities and risks.

  • Develop corrective action plans when performance targets are not being achieved.

  • Ensure all campaigns comply with franchise, licensing, brand and approval requirements.


Ticket Sales & Revenue Performance

  • Own ticket sales pacing, attendance forecasting and revenue performance for assigned projects.

  • Establish weekly and monthly sales targets and proactively monitor performance against goals.

  • Identify opportunities to increase conversion, attendance and profitability through pricing strategies, promotional offers, partnerships, group sales and marketing optimization.

  • Work closely with ticketing providers and venue partners to maximize sales and customer acquisition opportunities.

  • Deliver timely sales forecasts and market updates to senior leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities and recommended actions.


Strategic Partnerships & Promotions

  • Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with tourism organizations, cultural institutions, retailers, attractions, sports organizations, media partners, venues and community stakeholders.

  • Negotiate and activate strategic promotional partnerships that expand awareness, engagement and ticket sales.

  • Identify grassroots marketing opportunities and local activations that enhance audience reach and community relevance.

  • Maximize the value of venue and partner marketing assets, databases, communication channels and promotional opportunities.

  • Develop localized initiatives that support project goals and broader business objectives.


Agency & Vendor Leadership

  • Select, onboard, manage and evaluate external agencies supporting PR, media buying, creative, digital marketing and promotional activations.

  • Establish scopes of work, KPIs, reporting expectations, budgets and performance benchmarks.

  • Ensure agency recommendations are data-driven and aligned with attendance and revenue objectives.

  • Review media plans, promotional strategies and campaign performance and direct optimization efforts.

  • Oversee localization, translation, trafficking and deployment of campaign assets with internal teams.


Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the primary liaison between market execution teams and Imagine’s centralized marketing functions.

  • Lead collaboration across Communications, Digital Marketing, Performance Marketing, Operations, Ticketing, Finance and Creative.

  • Provide market intelligence, audience insights, competitive analysis and post-campaign learnings to improve future performance.

  • Lead or support project launches, media events, partner activations and promotional initiatives.

  • Provide direction and mentorship to assigned Marketing & Sales Coordinators and other team members.


Process, Reporting & Accountability

  • Develop and maintain project timelines, marketing calendars, sales pacing reports and performance dashboards.

  • Deliver concise weekly performance updates outlining attendance trends, campaign effectiveness, partnership activity and strategic recommendations.

  • Own budget tracking, forecasting, project close-outs and post-campaign reporting.

  • Document best practices and lessons learned to improve future market launches and operational efficiency.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, responsiveness, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Erforderliche Kompetenzen:

Qualifications

  • Typically 7–12+ years of progressive experience in marketing, sales, partnerships, promotions or promoter roles.

  • Extensive experience in live entertainment, touring exhibitions, attractions, tourism, sports, cultural institutions or experiential marketing.

  • Demonstrated success driving ticket sales, attendance growth and revenue performance through integrated marketing and promotional campaigns.

  • Experience independently managing markets, projects or business units with accountability for commercial results.

  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, paid media, public relations, partnerships, promotions and audience development.

  • Proven experience managing agencies and external vendors.

  • Strong ability to analyze performance data and translate insights into actionable business recommendations.

  • Excellent organizational, project management and budget management skills.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience promoting IP-driven exhibitions, branded experiences, immersive attractions, live events or touring entertainment properties.

  • Experience working with venues, museums, cultural institutions, tourism organizations and destination marketing partners.

  • Experience with ticketing systems, CRM platforms and marketing performance reporting.

  • Experience managing international projects and collaborating across multiple markets and time zones.

  • Professional proficiency in Spanish or another non-English language strongly preferred.
