Senior Director of Sales and Marketing

This position is one of several SDSM positions that are responsible for setting and driving the ticket sales and marketing strategy for Imagine Exhibitions, Inc. and its portfolio of 40+ exhibitions and experiences. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in entertainment sales and marketing and a proven track record selling tickets to live entertainment in-person events. Imagine is a lively, fast-growing company with an expanding portfolio of high-profile projects that require this role on the MarComm team which will help set and achieve strategy, priorities, and sales goals.

The Senior Director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for setting and driving the ticket sales and marketing strategy for this role’s assigned portfolio of exhibitions and experiences. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in entertainment sales and marketing and a proven track record selling tickets to in-person events. This role will be responsible for leading marketing efforts on the assigned portfolio including developing and nurturing a team of Marketers and Promotors (both Imagine employees and external contractors) that will flex over time as projects expand and evolve. This position should have the ability to set a vision and strategy and then mobilize the team to achieve that vision. They will also maintain a personal portfolio of projects to be leading. A successful candidate will juggle multiple projects simultaneously while responding to new opportunities with clear eyes, a command of resources, and a can-do attitude. This role will be an instrumental part of the leadership of the marketing department at Imagine Exhibitions, collaborating with the VP of Marketing & Communications, other SDSMs, Director of Marketing Operations and Director of Content and Communication on the strategies and priorities for the company utilizing internal staff resources and external agencies. As a founder led organization, this role will also have dotted-line accountability to CEO, Tom Zaller. This leader must have demonstrated management experience—and the ability to collaborate successfully with both internal and external partners to achieve and exceed company goals. This role can be a remote work arrangement from your home that will require domestic and international travel.

Zodpovědnosti:

  • Leading a team of Marketers and Promotors (both Imagine employees and external contractors) to establish, execute and monitor effective multichannel marketing campaigns to achieve the goals of each business unit, project and booking.

  • Maintaining assigned portfolio of projects, with the initial plan for Harry Potter: The Exhibition as specific focus, where they will oversee the day-to-day activities, marketing budgets, local PR, Media Planning (including media buying and digital marketing), Group Sales, brokers and third-party ticketing, PR, promotions and other local partnerships & vendors for own projects while supporting this activity of those on the team.

  • Continue to create purposeful and creative partnerships with local businesses and organizations (including: local malls, theaters, museums, zoos, libraries, restaurants, retail shops, schools, local government (CVB & Chambers), transportation (Big Bus, etc), local/major league sports teams, etc.) to help generate impactful promotional support for the assigned portfolio.

  • Managing relationship with venue partners to fully utilize their capabilities and assets to achieve success in reaching goals.

  • Take advantage of existing events and activities in the market and ensure designated projects have a presence. Events might include parades, sporting events, comic-cons, festivals, marathons, etc. Coordinate promotional “activations/stunts” i.e., teaser appearances, etc. to increase interest & excitement in the local market.

  • Procurement and management of agencies where applicable for: PR, Media Buying, Promotions, Creative Development, Digital, among others.

  • Marketing budget development, allocation and management per project that adheres to the limits established.

  • Timely processing of vendor invoice approval and accounting submissions

  • Building and maintaining marketing strategy / plan documents

  • Scheduling and communicating after calls to the team to move things forward in an organized manner

  • Identify and develop 100% barter/trade media packages/opportunities with smaller, community based, adjacent/feeder markets.

  • Regular status reporting on all efforts and other tasks related to being a member of the Imagine Marketing Team and to making our projects successful.

  • 10+ years in Marketing and Sales for entertainment, attractions, and/or a visitor-serving organization

  • Excellent aptitude and expertise for digital marketing including, but not limited to paid, social and search.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in clear terms

  • Stellar interpersonal skills that support successful internal and external collaboration with team, vendors, partners.

  • Transparent approach to sharing best practices and incorporating new insights into workflow.

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven industry that can be chaotic at times

  • Moderate travel requirements are possible, both domestic and foreign.

  • A data-driven thinker with the ability to synthesize information and metrics across platforms to gain insights and take compelling next steps to achieve goals.

  • Travel domestically and/or internationally based on business need.
